Bleach was a British rock band that was classified as part of the shoegazing scene by the English music press , but never reached the popularity of other representatives of the genre such as Curve , Ride and Slowdive .

history

The band was founded in 1989 by the two Singleton brothers in Ipswich . The line-up was completed by drummer Steve Scott and singer Salli Carson. Carson had previously worked as a researcher for the British broadcaster Anglia TV in East Anglia .

On June 4, 1991, four songs were recorded with the band for a peel session that aired on July 21. Guitarist Neil Singleton, the bassist's brother, was not present during the recording.

The band disappeared relatively quickly after the debut album could not keep up stylistically with the previous EPs.

After singer Salli Carson was called a sex symbol , she was bald without further ado . In 1999 she was on the album Hope Is Important by the Scottish band Idlewild .
