The Blizzard Peak ( English for snowstorm peak ) is at 3375 m the highest peak of the Marshall Mountains in the Antarctic Queen Alexandra chain , which is about 6.5 kilometers northwest of Mount Marshall .
It was named so by the Northern Group in a 1961-1962 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition after a blizzard prevented the group from approaching the mountain for several days.
