The Marshall Mountains are a mountain range in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . In the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains, it towers over the Beardmore Glacier on the western flank. The highest point is Mount Marshall with a height of 3160 m . The Marshall Mountains are bounded by the Berwick Glacier to the north and by the Swinford Glacier to the south .
The mountain range was discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . It is named after the British doctor Eric Marshall (1879–1963), a participant in the expedition.
