Block Peak is a 2770 m high mountain peak that towers around 6.5 kilometers northwest of Mauger Nunatak in the Grosvenor Mountains .
The American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd discovered him during the flight to the South Pole on November 29, 1929 as part of his first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) and named him after William Block (1915–2005), son of Paul Block Sr. (1875 –1941), a patron of the expedition.
