Train route section
A train heading section is a track section of the free route into which a train may only enter with the consent of a dispatcher , if
- it is free of vehicles (exceptions: driving on sight , operational disruptions )
- a train in front is covered by a stop signal (including a slip path ),
- the track of the free line to the next train reporting point is not used by a train in the opposite direction.
This is technically ensured by means of a route block . If this is not available, there is feedback , if it is disturbed, feedback or " evacuation test on time" is introduced depending on the stretch block design .
A train sequence section is therefore always limited by two signals, which can also be virtual signals (e.g. block identifiers ) that are used with driver's cab signaling (e.g. with ETCS ). The signal at the end of the train path section can also be a blocking signal or a protection signal on a buffer stop.
