The Blue Moon Orchestra is a German swing band .
Band history
The Blue Moon Orchestra was founded in 2004 by the clarinetist and saxophonist Marco Plitzner together with Blue Moon Music GbR (an association of professional musicians). The band has specialized in the music of the great American big bands of the 30s and 40s, but the music of the German post-war bands is also part of the repertoire. The audience learns worth knowing about the respective pieces, composers and musicians in a moderation.
Miro Nemec , Roberto Blanco , Thomas Anders , Lang Lang , Jörg Hegemann , Bill Ramsey and Hugo Strasser , among others, were accompanied at national appearances . The orchestra toured regularly with Hugo Strasser from 2009 to 2016.
