Blue Night Shadow is a song by Two of Us . It was released in April 1985. The song reached high chart positions in German-speaking countries: fifth place in Germany , seventh place in Switzerland and 14th place in Austria .
Creation and publication
The song was written by Ulrich Herter together with Timothy Touchton and produced by Hubert Kemmler (alias Hubert Kah ) and Herter. The lyrics are about a young woman who acts like a shadow, she is "here to tease / not to please". The song is from synthesizers played that Lothar Krell served, and of polyphonic vocal harmonies influenced. Swing elements are used. Alienated voice samples were added in the bridge . It is the child's voice of the four-year-old "Bärbele". The overdubs were mixed by Siegfried Kemmler.
In April 1985 the single was released on Blow Up Records . The B-side contains the song Blue Night Shadow Part II . The 12 "single contained the 5:33 minute long special dance mix, which also appeared on the album Twice as Nice . The singles were also released on blue vinyl. The band performed the song live several times, including on Formula One (Episode 93). On November 30, 1985, she performed at Peters Pop Show in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle , which was broadcast to numerous countries around the world.Other appearances included Show & Co. with Carlo (episode six) and in 1986 the Angel Casas Show in Spain .
