Blues with a Feeling is a Blue Song , the first time in 1947 by Rabon Tarrant is, who is also author of the song, with Jack McVea was published and His All Stars on Black & White (cat. No. 119). On the B-side of the single is the song Slowly Goin 'Crazy .

Original song

The song was written by Rabon Tarrant, Jack McVea's drummer. He also sang during the recording. The recording is a 12-bar jump blues in medium tempo, solo instruments are saxophone and trumpet.

Jack McVea's Band was also sometimes named the Jack McVea and the Door Openers, after McVea's only hit, Open the Door, Richard .

Cover version of Little Walter

Little Walter ( harmonica and vocals) recorded the song on July 23, 1953 with Dave Myers and Louis Myers or Jimmy Rogers (guitar), Willie Dixon (bass) and Fred Below (drums). Although the song largely follows the lyrics and the original arrangement, Walter gives it a contemporary touch. The song is played as slow blues with Walter's unmistakable harmonica trousers and the solo parts that accompany the singing. The song was released on Checker (780), a sub-label of Chess Records . On the B-side is "Quarter to Twelve". The song was on the Billboard Rhythm and Bluescharts for 11 weeks and reached # 2 as the top spot.
