biography

Like his brother Dave , Louis Myers came to Chicago with the family from Mississippi in 1941 . Both got to know the Chicago Blues through Lonnie Johnson after they had previously learned to play the country blues on guitar from their father Amos Myers . With his brother Dave (guitar, harmonica) Louis formed the duo "The Little Boys". Dave played the rhythm on his electric guitar while Louis played the lead guitar . Together with Junior Wells (harmonica) and Fred Below (drums), “The Aces” emerged. With Little Walter instead of Wells, they played a number of hits as "Little Walter & His Jukes" until the mid-1950s.

In 1954 Louis left the band to work as a session musician . In the 1970s, the Myers brothers went on tour again as "The Aces". In 1978 Louis brought out his first album under his own name, I'm a Southern Man . Louis Myers suffered a stroke in 1991 while recording his last album, Tell My Story Movin ' . He died in Chicago on September 5, 1994.
