Blumenkoog

The Blumenkoog (formerly Blomenkoog , North Frisian : Bluumenkuuch , Danish : Blomekog ) is a Koog in the municipality of Dagebüll immediately south of the Bottschlotter Lake . The Bongsieler Kanal separates it from the Waygaarder Koog and the Ockholmer Koog . It was diked in the years 1648 to 1652 at the instigation of the bailiff Wolf Blome, who also gave the Koog its name. Today the Koog covers an area of ​​around 180 ha with a dyke length of around 3.4 km.
