Bożena Kowalska

Bożena Kowalska (born December 19, 1930 in Warsaw ) is a Polish art historian, critic, collector and gallery owner.

Kowalska studied art history at the University of Warsaw and headed the education department of the Central Office for Art Exhibitions. In the 1970s she gave postgraduate lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw . From 1972 to 2001 she ran Galeria 72 in Chelm . She made her own collection of contemporary art, comprising around 1,500 works, available to the Chelm Regional Museum. She was the curator of numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad and regularly publishes articles, essays, scientific works, sketches about art and artists in national and international magazines (approx. 1000 publications in total).
