Bo Lamar

Dwight "Bo" Lamar (born April 7, 1951 in Columbus , Ohio ) is a retired American professional basketball player.

Lamar attended school in Columbus and studied at the University of Southwestern Louisiana , now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette .

As a player on the university team Ragin 'Cajun , he was included three times in the "All-American" selection between 1969 and 1973. During his career on the university team, he averaged 31.2 points per game and a total of 3,493 points, a figure that still ranks high in the NCAA 's record-breaking basketball statistics .

During the 1973 NBA selection round ( NBA Draft ) Lamar was selected in the third round by the Detroit Pistons . During his career, he played for three teams in the American Basketball Association : from 1974 to 1975 for the San Diego Conquistadors , 1976 for the Indiana Pacers and later the San Diego Sails . Then he moved to the NBA and played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 1977 .
