Bob Karp

Robert Louis Karp (* 1911 , † 1975 ) was an American lyricist of Disney - comics , especially Donald Duck - Sunday Strips .

Karp became a Disney employee as early as the mid- 1930s . The draftsman Al Taliaferro had immortalized Donald, who was sometimes quite irascible, in a comic on September 16, 1934, but his big breakthrough came in 1938 in collaboration with Bob Karp. On February 7, 1938 the time had come: the first day's trip appeared . From December 10, 1939, the series was even expanded to include a Sunday page.

The Al Taliaferro / Bob Karp team worked on her for 31 years, until Taliaferro's death on February 3, 1969. Karp also became known as the author of the first story of the comic genius Carl Barks , Piratengold ( Donald Duck finds Pirate Gold ).

In addition to his work for Disney comics, he also wrote gags for comics based on the TV series Flintstones . In the 1960s and 1970s, he also wrote screenplays for animated series about Superman , Batman and other superheroes.
