Bob Spring (2012)

Bob Spring (born January 3, 1984 in Zug , Switzerland ) is a Swiss country and blues musician.

Life

From 2000 to 2010 Spring was the lead singer of the rock band Backwash. He has also written and recorded hundreds of songs as the front man of a rock band, creating his own style of music, which he dubbed “Junk Blues” and “Dark Country”.

In 2007, Bob Spring released the first solo demo CD called Junk Blues . In 2008 the second demo CD Rise Drain Darkness Mother And Sleep followed . In 2012 Spring released the concept EP West End EP . On the West End EP there are five songs, each with their own little story, these are printed on the back of the cardboard pocket. This EP was inspired by his stay in Roatán ( Honduras ) in 2009.

In 2010 Spring moved back to the Caribbean, to Roatán, where he gave concerts and radio interviews to promote the CD West End EP . In the same year, Bob Spring began producing his first official CD Run From Death . The debut album Run From Death was produced by Dave Snow. Bob Spring performed almost exclusively solo until the end of 2009. In September 2009, Bob Spring put together a backing band to accompany him live. Tommy Marty plays the lead guitar. While looking for a drummer / percussionist, Tommy suggested his younger brother Michel Marty. Jürg Hafner was hired as a bassist.

In 2012 Bob Spring set off with his album in his luggage to do his first US tour. From June to July 2012 he played six concerts with the Marty brothers from New York to Tennessee to Los Angeles in renowned clubs, including Whiskey a Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

On May 23, 2014 the singer-songwriter released his second album "Dust And Arrows". In the same year, from October to November, Spring went on tour again in the USA, this time solo.

His US tour in October 2014 started in New York; it then took him from Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada, Arizona to California. He then recorded the joint studio album with his new band "The Calling Sirens", which was released in early 2015.

As the former front man of “Backwash”, Bob Spring coined the term “Kick Ass Rock'n'Roll” after the turn of the millennium. 10 years later he published "Dust And Arrows".

Bob Spring has been soloing since 2007 and has written and produced over 400 songs. "I'm a diligent songwriter, even if I often find it difficult to focus." He also writes rock songs every now and then to reduce aggression. An album with his band “THE CALLING SIRENS” is in post-production and is expected at the end of the year. But his passion are live performances, especially in the USA. The musician tours here regularly and has played several concerts with the Marty Brothers, from New York City to Nashville to Los Angeles. And in renowned clubs like Whiskey a Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

Shortly before his USA tour in 2014, Bob Spring met his musical colleagues, The Calling Sirens, and together they decided to record an album together. Bob Spring & The Calling Sirens released their first self-titled record together in spring 2015 under the Zurich label IRASCIBLE. In the same year things went up pretty steeply, the band played many concerts in Switzerland, including at the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival with international greats like Portishead, Paolo Nutini and many more. A year later, in the spring of 2016, the band around Bob Spring toured Ireland and gave concerts that further increased the international fan base.
