Bobby Aitken is a sound designer .

Life

Aitken has been involved in theater and live performances worldwide for more than thirty years. His work includes successful productions such as Ghost , Dirty Dancing , Mamma Mia! , We will Rock You , Grease , My Fair Lady , Showboat , Lennon , Return To The Forbidden Planet , Five Guys Named Moe , Which Witch , Metropolis , Pete Townshends The Iron Man , High Society , Time , Sweeney Todd , Noël Cowards Operetta Bitter Sweet , Children Of Eden and The Fix and Bartholomew Fair .

He has worked at the Belgrade Theater Coventry, Derby Playhouse, Sheffield Crucible, Manchester Royal Exchange, Palace Theater, Watford and the Leicester Haymarket. He was responsible for the sound design for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympics and for the Paralympics in London 2012. In recent years Bobby Aitken has devoted himself to new techniques for amplifying the sound of large opera productions.

In 2015 he was responsible for the sound design of the experimental version of Mackie Messer - a Salzburg threepenny opera by Brecht / Weill in the musical reorganization of Martin Lowe , director: Julian Crouch / Sven-Eric Bechtolf at the Salzburg Festival .
