Bobo is a comic figure created by the Belgian comic author Maurice Rosy together with the illustrator Paul Deliège in 1961 .

action

Bobo is imprisoned in the Riegelfest prison (originally Inzepoket ). His main goal is the successful escape from the prison, which never succeeds and fails because of various obstacles, either because of envious fellow prisoners or the incompetence of the prison administration.

Characters

  • Bobo is a prisoner. His only goal in life is to successfully break out of Riegelfest. Like his fellow prisoners, he is dressed in the classic black and yellow striped prison gown known from the Daltons .
  • Pincers Henry (initially Julius the simpleton , in the original Julot-les-pinceaux ) is Bobo's incompetent, but at least at large, escape helper, who repeatedly supports him in his escape attempts, albeit in vain.
  • The director of Riegelfest treats the prisoners entrusted to him more like a good-natured father, and he is always indulgent towards Bobo's attempts to escape.
  • Baby Joe (initially Ede , originally Joe la Candeur ) is a brutal, albeit not very intelligent, fellow prisoner who repeatedly thwarted Bobo's escape plans , sometimes involuntarily.

Publications

In France the series was published from 1961 to 1996 in a total of 103 comic albums and other publications. Bobo first appeared in Spirou magazine on April 12, 1961 . The first publication in Germany was published by Kauka Verlag in 1966, with some longer interruptions, Strips with Bobo were published by Kauka in various magazines until 1995.

Adaptations

In 1988 the computer game called Bobo for Atari ST and Commodore Amiga was released by Infogrames Entertainment .
