Bobs Farm is a suburb in the local administrative area (LGA) Port Stephens Council in the Australian state of New South Wales . In the sparsely populated area there are some wineries and wineries as well as aquaculture.
geography
Bob's Farm is located 30 kilometers north of Newcastle on the Tomaree Peninsula on the main road to Nelson Bay . Almost the entire northern border is formed by Tilligerry Creek , in the south part of Stockton Beach on the South Pacific Ocean belongs to Bob's Farm .
The population lives primarily along Marsh Road and Nelson Bay Road. Some squatters have built barracks called Tin City on Stockton Beach .
history
Contrary to the law, civilians evacuated from the Portuguese Timor colony from the Japanese invaders were interned in the former military camp at Bob's farm during World War II . They had supported the Allies in the Battle of Timor . Even official Australian sources describe the living conditions in the camp as harsh.
