The post mill Danstedt is a restored, functional post mill in the district Danstedt of the municipality of Nordharz in the district of Harz in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

The mill was built in 1817 on a small, windy hill southeast of the village. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1835. The mill was owned by the Kampe family for six generations until 1980. Between 1987 and 1991 the mill was extensively restored. Support is provided by the Danstedt Mill Association.

The mill is put into operation on special occasions - such as the German Milling Day .
