Ground beetle

Beetle species from different families of beetles that live permanently in the topsoil are grouped together as ground beetle or ground beetle society . The often predatory insects feed on slugs and worms or carrion components, for example.

The species to different families, such as the rove beetles , ground beetles , weevils , beetles , water beetles , mold beetles , Erdkäfern (Trogidae) Aaskäfern (Silphidae), dung beetles (Geotrupidae), scarab beetles (Scarabaeidae) Moder beetle (Latridiidae) and Kahn beetles ( Scaphidiinae) counted.

Ground beetles are closely related to site conditions and react to changes in environmental factors through quantitative and qualitative changes, which means that they are often used for ecological biotope assessment.
