Kang Kwang-bae (born July 29, 1973 ) is a former South Korean skeleton skier and bobsleigh athlete .

Kang Kwang-bae has been involved in skeleton since 1995 and has been a member of the South Korean national team since 1996. Kang is trained in Chon-Jo by Matthias Guggenberger . In January 2000 he appeared in Lillehammer for the first time in the Skeleton World Cup and finished 47th. A month later he started in Igls for the first time in a skeleton world championship , another three starts followed by 2005. In Salt Lake City , Kang started in the 2002 Olympic Games and finished twentieth. In the following World Cup race in Igls, he achieved his best World Cup result with 20th place. In 2006, Kang was one of the few athletes to take part in the Olympic Games for the second time . In Turin , the South Korean finished 23rd in his last international race. In addition, Kang Kwang-bae was a member of the South Korean bobsleigh squad.

In 2010 he was elected Vice President for International Affairs to the Presidium of the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing .
