Bodil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bodil (Bodilprisen) is the oldest Danish film award . It has been given annually since 1948 at a large gala in Copenhagen , mainly to Danish productions. In contrast to the Robert Film Festival organized by the Danish Film Academy , it is awarded by the Association of Film Critics.

The film award was introduced in the post-war period in order to attract European attention to the emerging Danish film industry. The Bodil was awarded for the first time on April 29, 1948 in the upscale Copenhagen restaurant Ambassadeur . The award is named after the actress and director Bodil Ipsen and the actress Bodil Kjer .
