Bodo Saake

Bodo Saake (* 1961 ) is a German wood manager and professor for wood chemistry at the Center for Wood Management at the University of Hamburg .

Live and act

Saake studied wood management at the University of Hamburg from 1981 to 1987. From 1988 to 1992 Saake worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Wood Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Wood in Hamburg. In 1992 he received his doctorate on the subject of "Investigations into the production and analysis of ASAM chemical pulps from spruce wood". From 1992 to 1993 Saake was on a post doctoral fellowship at McGill University in Canada. In the following years, Saake worked again at the Holz Campus Hamburg-Bergedorf and completed his habilitation in 2004 on the subject of "Enzyme-assisted characterization of cellulose derivatives" at the University of Hamburg. Saake has held the Chair of Chemical Wood Technology since 2010 .
