Bodo Witte

Bodo Witte (born April 13, 1930 - July 11, 2015 ) was a German theater director .

Life

Bodo Witte worked at the Nordhausen Theater from 1959 to 1965 and then moved to the Erfurt Theater , where he stayed until 1991. In addition to the old opera and drama, he directed and integrated cabaret and puppet theater as part of the municipal theaters.

Porgy and Bess , West Side Story and Cabaret have already been staged under Witte's direction . Andrea Chénier and The Earthquake in Chili came out of unknown and new operas and he also had a distinguished ballet troupe. In acting he also took care of Bertolt Brecht and Heiner Müller , and there was a fictional report about an American pop festival (a Rolling Stones concert in Altamont (USA) in 1969 ).
