Bodo Wolf (energy economist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bodo Wolf (born May 4, 1940 in Breslau ) is a German energy economist and entrepreneur . He was best known for his vision of climate-neutral diesel.

Life

After completing his training as an engineer and engineering economist in the fields of gas management, gas generation and energetics, he received his doctorate in the field of process engineering in the basic industry as a Dr.-Ing. with a dissertation on the thermodynamic system iron, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen with the aim of producing hydrogen. Bodo Wolf has worked as an engineer in the coal and energy industry since 1960, 15 years of which in production, 20 years in industrial research and development, and since 1990 he has been an independent entrepreneur.

As an inventor, he has applied for industrial patents. His vision is the industrial use of photosynthesis . He sees the natural carbon cycle process as the key to climate protection. Only the portion of released energy that this process could not bind heat the earth's surface. As the third generation of renewable fuels, he describes the storage of solar or regenerative energy using chemical energy carriers with the help of carbon dioxide and water. He is campaigning for a chair on energetics in the biosphere because he advocates the thesis that current climate research falls short. In his opinion, physicists who describe a CO 2 -related greenhouse effect as global warming shorten the topic. It is not the earth that is warming up, but the biosphere with its areas of life, air, water and soil. When biomass is burned, the solar energy stored millions of years ago is released. Wolf advocates a ban on the use of coal, oil and gas. One must "stop releasing potential energy from fossil fuels into sensible heat", but instead use the current solar energy. Because coal, oil and gas are the pillars of the world economy, the energy turnaround represents the "greatest social transformation in human history".

Entrepreneurship

Wolf is the founder of UET GmbH with the aim of developing and manufacturing renewable synthetic fuels from biomass and water, after a successful demonstration with the Alpha system with the Choren Industries group of companies, transferred to Daimler-Chrysler, VW and Shell. From 2005 he built the bw-energiesysteme group of companies with the thermea companies. Energiesysteme GmbH, EA EnergieArchitektur GmbH, EA Systems Dresden GmbH, SunFire GmbH and NACOMPEX GmbH. One product of this group of companies is synthetic diesel .
