Bogner Amplification is an American manufacturer of guitar amplifiers based in Los Angeles . The company was founded by the German Reinhold Bogner, who has been manufacturing and selling amplifiers and amplifier modifications under the Bogner brand since 1990 .

History and products

Reinhold Bogner began to build tube amplifiers from Marshall and Fender for himself and friends and to experiment with tubes when he was around fourteen . He later continued his career by converting Marshall amplifiers and emigrated from Ulm to the USA in 1989 . In his luggage was a heavily modified Marshall JCM-800, which he showed to various musicians. He later modified the amplifiers from Steve Vai , Eddie Van Halen and Mike Landau, among others .

The first Bogner series product was the Triple Giant , a three-channel all -tube preamplifier for 19 " rack systems . The most famous Bogner amplifiers include the Ecstasy , a 100-watt all-tube amplifier with three channels, the supersonic , a 120-watt amplifier, which has been built since 1992 -Full tube amplifier with two channels and the 80 watt full tube amplifier Shiva .

Bogner all-tube amplifiers are among the most expensive amplifiers on the market. It was only with the Alchemist , a cooperation with Line 6 , and cheaper production in the People's Republic of China , that Bogner opened up to a wider range of buyers. This cooperation was continued in 2011 with the Line 6 DT50, Bogner developed a completely new pre- and power stage concept for this amplifier, which enables different modes of operation and voicings. In 2007, Bogner had developed the Spider Valve , the first modeling amplifier based on all tubes, together with Line 6 .

In 2009, Bogner's Alchemist product line received the Gold Award for Overall Value from the music magazine Guitar World .
