Bognor SA is a Uruguayan company that specializes in armoring for passenger cars.
history
The company Oferol was founded back in 1996, producing Peugeot and Citroën vehicles. When the PSA Group decided to no longer have vehicles manufactured by Oferol, the company changed its strategy, switched to the construction of armored vehicles and founded the company Bognor for this purpose . Both companies share the production facilities.
According to the company, Bognor employed 70 people.
There were buyers for armored vehicles in Brazil , Colombia and other countries in South America .
A source says that Bognor is said to have taken over the Oferol plant for Lada production. The Diva model was based on the Lada Niva .
When Oferol manufactured the RTM Tango tricycle in 2004 or 2005 , Bognor was also named as a co-manufacturer.
After Oferol signed an agreement with Chery to produce Chery Socma in 2006 or 2007 , Bognor entered into a relationship with Chery in 2007 to participate as a minority shareholder in armored vehicle production in China.
Since 2010, the Bentley Continental has also been converted into an armored vehicle.
The Bognor company was still active in 2014.
