Bohdan Sláma (born May 29, 1967 in Opava , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech film director and screenwriter .

He studied mechanical and device engineering and then trained as a director at FAMU in Prague . His feature film debut Wilde Bienen , published in 2001, was successful at smaller film festivals , including the Cottbus Film Festival , where it won the main prize. In 2002 he created the episode film Radhost together with Pavel Göbl and Tomás Doruska .

The season of happiness from 2005 is a depressive drama about three childhood friends in the Czech Republic. The film won the Bohemian Lion , the National Film Prize of the Czech Republic, the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and was the Czech entry for an Oscar nomination in the category Best Foreign Language Film , but was neither nominated nor awarded.
