Bohnenberger is an impact crater on the southern front of the moon . It lies west of the Montes Pyrenaeus on the edge of the Mare Nectaris .

According to the classification of Peter H. Schultz, it is a floor-fractured crater of type IV-A. In this respect, the location at the edge of a mare is also typical.

The crater was named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer Johann Gottlieb Friedrich von Bohnenberger .
