Ulrich Dahmen

Ulrich Dahmen (* 1961 in Aachen ) is a Catholic theologian and professor of Old Testament literature and exegesis at the Theological Faculty of the University of Freiburg .

biography

After studying theology, philosophy and Semitic studies at the University of Bonn and the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen , Ulrich Dahmen received his doctorate in theology in 1996 at the Catholic-Theological Faculty in Bonn. The habilitation took place in 2003 also in Bonn. Ulrich Dahmen has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Siegen since 1992 . On January 1, 2012, he took over the chair of Old Testament exegesis at the Theological Faculty of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.

Ulrich Dahmen's main research areas are the Pentateuch , the Book of the Twelve Prophets and the Psalms. Since 2007 he has been leading the Theological Dictionary on the Qumran Texts project, funded by the German Research Foundation, together with Heinz-Josef Fabry . The three volumes of the work were published in 2011, 2013 and 2016.
