Buhoodle or Buuhoodle (alternative spelling Bohotle ) is a village in the Ayn region in northern Somalia , which is now separated from the administrative region Togdheer and which is claimed by both Puntland and Somaliland . It lies on the border with Ethiopia ( Somali region ) in the Haud area .
Most of the inhabitants belong to the Somali clan of the Dolbohanta- Darod .
The well-known Sufi sheikh, poet and rebel leader Mohammed Abdullah Hassan was born near Buhoodle .
