Bojan Čop

Bojan Čop (born May 23, 1923 in Ljubljana ; † August 3, 1994 in Ljubljana) was a Yugoslav linguist .

Life

Čop studied classical philology and Indo-European languages at the University of Ljubljana from 1941 to 1947 . He received his diploma in 1947 and worked as an assistant in various university seminars. In 1971 he received his doctorate, in 1972 he became a professor and in 1976 he was appointed a member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts . His research interests were the Indo-European , Hittite , Uralic and Tocharologie .
