The Bokeler Au is a river in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .

The river has a length of about 13 km, rises northeast of Nortorf and forms the Jevenau after the confluence with the Brammer Au between Jevenstedt and Bokel . Smaller backwaters are Aschehornbek , Hogenholtbek , Rehmsbach , Stubbenbek and Wischbek . The treated wastewater is discharged from Nortorf and then from Ellerdorf via the river .

Renaturation

As part of the EU project 4th BA, station 5 + 555 - 6 + 500 , the upper Bokeler Au was redesigned to be natural over a length of 9.1 kilometers as part of the Rural Areas Future Program (ZPLR) between 1996 and 2013. The measure was intended in particular to improve the self-cleaning power of the water body.
