Bole (stone castle)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The place Bole was one of the villages that Count Adolf IV. Von Schauenburg and Holstein founded in 1237 together with Rethwisch , Neuenbrook , Audeich and Grevenkop .

Bole had its own parish.

History and location

Bole was near the place Blomesche Wildnis between Herzhorn and Glückstadt . In 1237 a dike was built by the citizens of Neuenbrook.

The river "Bolritt", which flows into the Kremper Rhin , was named after Bole . In 1887 some stones belonging to Bole were found. They were 1 meter deep in the earth and were covered by a green layer.

Around 1412 the place went under, probably as a result of a flood. Thus it is the only one of the places founded by Count Adolf IV in 1237 that no longer exists.

Current

An eastern part of Glückstadt is now called "Bole".
