history
Neuenbrook was founded in 1237 together with Bole , Rethwisch , Audeich and Grevenkop . It is a row village divided into Neuenbrook-Ost and -West, with the eastern part being older. These two parts are in turn divided into a northern and a southern section. Each of these rectangular sections is 3 × 1 kilometer in size. the western sections were called Kodekriep and Bahtenviertel, the eastern sections Oldendorp and Gosau. The Rohlfsche Hof was located in Neuenbrook .
In 1975 there were 36 farms in Neuenbrook, in 1998 the number had dropped to 19.
The St. Catherine's Church
The church is dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria . The old church was demolished in 1890, and the current neo-Gothic church was built and consecrated by architects Schmidt and Wurzbach in 1891. A picture of the old church can be seen in the Neuenbrooks village chronicle. In 1894 the cemetery was also expanded. In 1919 a memorial plaque with the names of all the Neuenbrooker fallen in World War I was placed on the left and right of the entrance. For the 100th birthday of the church on June 15, 1991, Pastor Walter Lötje wrote a commemorative publication in an edition of 1000 copies, in which the entire known church history is described.
Neuenbrook in the Thirty Years War
In 1628 the troops of Wallenstein , who had taken the Krempe fortress , withdrew via Neuenbrook. They looted the eastern side of Neuenbrook and the church and burned down the western part of the village. Only Hof West 29 was spared for unknown reasons. In addition, the organ and the stalls of the church were destroyed and the pastorate was pillaged; the existing church registers were lost.
Guilds and associations
There are several guilds and associations in Neuenbrook. The village guild was founded on November 27, 1616 and celebrated its 375th anniversary in 1991 with the publication of a book. The Kodekrieper Guild was founded in 1660, the last one being the Korngilde in 1667. There is also the Neuenbrook-Rethwisch sports club, which was founded on July 23, 1953.

Neuenbrooker chroniclers and researchers
Simon Wieckhorst is the first Neuenbrooker chronicler to be named in literature. He was born in 1838 and thus experienced Neuenbrook's heyday, which he recorded in Low German before he died in 1930. The first chronicle available in larger editions was written on October 17, 1937 by Pastor Walter Lötje for the 700th anniversary. In it he complained that there was no comprehensive chronicle so far, and that the 70-page booklet he wrote is simply not enough to describe the whole of Neuenbrook. he added that a veteran would have to write the chronicle. 50 years passed before a fully elaborated chronicle appeared in 1987. Pastor Lötje did not experience this anymore.
economy
In Neuenbrook there are several businesses and a chalk industry .
In addition, the "Tanktreff Neuenbrook" is a Hoyer petrol station near the church.
