history

In 1650 Kiebitzzeile was mentioned for the first time in a document which dealt with the draining of the Königsmoor. There it says: "ok schölen de Kiwitzlüde afdiken the water in front of the Wild Mohr ...".

Economy and Infrastructure

There is a connection to Horst, Elmshorn and Itzehoe via federal highway 5 . Both via Horst and Elmshorn, the Autobahn 23 can be reached in around ten minutes.

Kiebitzzeile has been one of two municipalities in the Steinburg district since 2003 in the tariff area of ​​the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV). There are two bus routes to Horst, Glückstadt and Elmshorn .

• Fritz Höger (1877–1949), architect, was born in Bekenreihe. The Fritz-Höger-Ring was named after him.
• Magnus Weidemann (1880–1967), pastor, painter, graphic artist, photographer and author, was pastor in Kiebitzzeile. The Magnus-Weidemann-Weg in Kiebitzzeile was named after him.
