Ottenbüttel ( Low German : Ottenbüddel ) is a municipality in the Steinburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The districts Westermühlen and Stahfast belong to the municipality .

The community is characterized by its mostly rural structure, its location on the Mühlenbach lowland and its proximity to the Halloh forest. Memorial stone for the dead children

In February 1943, a farm in Ottenbüttel burned to the ground. The gable wall of the house remained standing. On February 7th, a large group of children took shelter behind this wall during a sudden snowstorm. The gable collapsed due to a gust of wind, killing nine children and injuring others. At the church in Hohenaspe there is a memorial stone with the names of those killed, which commemorates the accident.

The Itzehoer Sportkegler (VISK) eV is at home on the bowling facility in the district of Stahfast . It was founded in 1946 as the bowling department of the traditional Itzehoer SV (ISV 09) and merged with the KSK Goldene Neun Itzehoe in 2010. At this point he also plays his home games in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2010/2011 season they last fought for points in the 1st Kegel Bundesliga at the same location .
