Location of the community of Kleve in the Steinburg district | ||
Kleve (Low German Kleev) is a municipality in the Steinburg district in Schleswig-Holstein .
Community structure
The community consists of the districts of Kleve and Rahde, and the Krummendiek and Kleve estates are also part of the community.
Geography and traffic
Kleve is about 8 km west of Itzehoe . Bekau , Mühlenbach and Igel flow through the community.
history
The community was first mentioned in a document in 1480. Kleve has been an independent municipality since 1864 . The name of Kleve is derived from the cliff that forms the Geestrand to the lower Wilstermarsch .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Rahde was incorporated. Its name is probably derived from the clearing area.
coat of arms
The “coat of arms” of the community cannot be heraldically described and is therefore not a coat of arms in the actual sense, but rather to be assigned to the image seals. It was elected by the community after the Second World War in the absence of official seals that are free from National Socialist and Imperial symbols and is still used today.
The image seal refers to the location and the place name of the municipality of Kleve (cliff = steep slope between Geest and Marsch ).
