history
In the 13th century a fortified manor was built on the Bekau. In 1227 the then owner of the estate, Hartwig Busche de Crummendike, received the surrounding land and the settlement from Count Adolf IV von Holstein as a fief . In 1402 it was sold to the Rantzaus ; In the centuries that followed, other Holstein noble families such as Sehestedt and Ahlefeldt also belonged to the owners. In 1657 the manor was destroyed by the Swedes. The Krummendiek estate was later rebuilt in what is now Kleve .
The St. George Church is located in the community .
politics
Community representation
Since the local elections in 2008, the seven seats in the municipal council have been held by a community of voters.
coat of arms
The “coat of arms” of the community cannot be heraldically described and is therefore not a coat of arms in the actual sense, but rather to be assigned to the image seals. It was elected by the community after the Second World War in the absence of official seals that are free from National Socialist and Imperial symbols and is still used today.
