Company history

Wilhelm Hoyer founded the company Wilhelm Hoyer Viska Fabrikate in Visselhövede in 1924 . The product and production range mainly consisted of car grease, cleaning agents, floor wax and drive belt wax.

The son of the same name, Wilhelm Hoyer, joined his father's business in 1948 and the first Hoyer consumer petrol station was opened as early as 1950. Soon the first own tanker truck went on tour in the area around Visselhövede and a tank farm at the train station in Visselhövede had to be built. This was followed by the start of business with propane gas and a liquid gas tank farm with filling systems was built in Visselhövede. In 1978 the company Hoyer Visselgas GmbH was founded

In 1989 the wall came down and the border opened to the east in the former GDR, which significantly expanded the sales area. At the same time, the current senior Heinz-Wilhelm Hoyer took over management of the company.

In 1992, a liquid gas and mineral oil transshipment tank storage facility with siding and filling facilities was built in Visselhövede, thus ensuring an energy supply for northern and eastern Germany.

First in Kleinau in the Altmark, later in Neustadt-Glewe in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and then in Linthe / Brandenburg, the first new branches with tank farms were set up in the new federal states.

In the meantime, numerous mineral oil companies and petrol stations have been acquired and rebuilt and the total storage volume has been significantly expanded, including a. also through the acquisition of the water tank farm on the Elbe-Seiten Canal in Wittingen and on the Weser in Bremerhaven . From 2012, the sons of Heinz-Wilhelm and Ulrike Hoyer, Thomas, Markus and Stefan, gradually joined the company management.

In 2016, the production range was expanded to include the grid-based energy sources electricity and natural gas, so that the Hoyer Group is positioned as a full-service provider in terms of energy and mobility.

The certification of quality management according to ISO 9001: 2015 and energy management according to ISO 50001: 2011 were successfully completed.
