The Bolek Cove ( Polish Zatoka Bolka - "Boleks Bay") is a small bay in the east of King George Island , the largest of the South Shetland Islands . It is located directly on Cape Melville , the eastern cape of the island.
The "picturesque" bay was named after the ornithologist Bolesław "Bolek" Jabłoński , who took part in the Polish expeditions to the island in 1978/79, 1978/80 and 1980/81.
The Jabłoński Bay on the north coast of the island is named after him.
