Recent history and current condition

The house and estate of 15 square miles was inherited by Anthony Barbour in 1989 , making him one of the largest landowners in Cheshire. He expanded the property into a business park, restoring structures that were no longer needed and having the 16 farms modernized. So he created 800 new jobs. Barbour also had over 350 different types of trees planted in the park. In 1998 he received the Bledisloe Gold Medal from the Royal Agricultural Society of England for his work on his property. Barbour died in 2007. Since then, his widow, Diana , and his daughter, Nina , have taken care of the property; the latter is also the director of the property. Nina also organizes the annual Bolesworth International Show Jumping Event on the premises.
