Yang Sze ( Chinese  楊 斯  /  杨 斯 , Pinyin Yáng Sī , Jyutping Joeng 4 Si 1 , born July 3, 1946 in Guangzhou ), better known as Bolo Yeung , is a Chinese actor and former bodybuilder . Mainly he embodies villains in martial arts and action films .

In addition to several appearances in the so-called B-movies he plays in the US martial arts film Bloodsport alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon ( Enter the Dragon ).

Life

Yeung started his sporting career in Canton , a metropolis in the south of the People's Republic of China , where he trained under many Kung Fu and acrobatics masters. Moreover exercised Yeung in weightlifting , where he the champion in powerlifting ( powerlifting won). Many believed at the time that he was a master of Shōtōkan - karate , but this was not true because he never trained this sport.

Yeung met Bruce Lee while filming a commercial for the Winston cigarette brand . A friendship developed between the two, and Lee invited him to play the role of villain Bolo in Enter the Dragon ; since then the name “Bolo” has been associated with him. He starred in numerous kung fu films in the 1970s, but his first successful Hollywood appearance was when he played Chong Li alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in Bloodsport .

Outside of his acting career, he has three children. Yeung does strength training every day and practices Taijiquan . He is the chairman of the Hong Kong Gym Business Association and the team manager of the Taipei International Body Building Squad . Today Yeung lives in Monterey Park, USA.
