Bonifatia Wiedemann

Bonifatia Wiedemann OSB (born January 18, 1934 in Traunried ) is a German religious and was prioress of the St. Alban Monastery in Dießen am Ammersee in Upper Bavaria from 1966 to 2004 .

Life

Born Maria Karolina Wiedemann, she attended elementary school in Siebach from 1940 to 1948 and then attended the agricultural vocational school in Siebach for two years. She entered the monastery of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Alban on December 15, 1955, where she took the religious name Bonifatia. Wiedemann made temporary profession on October 27, 1957 and perpetual profession on October 30, 1960. Between 1958 and 1960 she was trained as a kindergarten teacher and then worked in the St. Alban children's home.

On November 1, 1966, the St. Alban Monastery became an independent priory and Wiedemann was elected first prioress. She also took over the management of the children's home.

In 1987 she became the Congregation Prior of the Congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Alban.
