history

Traunried

The area around Traunried was already settled in Roman times. The old field name Hochstraße in the Traunried district could indicate a junction of the Roman road from Augsburg to Kellmünz between Forsthofen and Treunried. Traunried was probably a clearing settlement, as indicated by the suffix Ried. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1282, when the Welf servant Heinrich von Mindelberg left a farm in Traunricht to the Steingaden monastery . The monastery had two courtyards in the village in 1425 and subsequently expanded to eight properties. Other wealthy people in town were the Schnizer family in 1336 , Ehrard the Ostheimer in 1372 and the Schnellmann in 1405 ; In 1498 a Bürglisloh , a forest belonging to the Bürglein, was mentioned. The Augsburg hospital property came to the Imhof zu Untermeitingen in 1718 . The place belonged to the margraviate Burgau , the lower jurisdiction exercised the Steingaden monastery, the high jurisdiction exercised the Bavarian rule Schwabeck . Towards the end of the 18th century, Baron von Imhof also had lower jurisdiction on six Sölden . The Schwabmünchen district court exercised this from 1813 before it was transferred to the Türkheim district court in 1817 . From 1819 to 1978 Traunried together with Aletshofen , Forsthofen and Höfen (Unterhöfen, Mittelhöfen and Oberhöfen) formed an independent political municipality. On May 1, 1978 Traunried was incorporated into the Ettringen community .
