Boniface Hiltprand

Bonifatius Hiltprand († May 5, 1689 in Gotteszell ) was abbot of the Gotteszell Monastery .

Life

Bonifaz Hiltprand was originally professed at Aldersbach Abbey , later prior and in 1658 abbot in Gotteszell. With his private fortune, he contributed to the economic recovery of the monastery, which burned down in 1641, and set up a study seminar for the theological training of novices.

He translated the annals of the Spanish scholar Ángel Manrique into German. The first volume appeared in Regensburg in 1739, the second in 1740.
