history
Gotteszell can look back on a long time as a monastery place. The Gotteszell Monastery was founded in 1286 under the name Cella Dei. Also worth seeing is the Asam Church of St. Anna with the famous Asam painting by Cosmas Damian Asam , as well as the uniquely beautifully situated Calvary with the Stations of the Cross and the Lourdes Chapel, which are still living witnesses from the monastery period.
In 1999 a four-manual organ designed by Prof. Günther Kaunzinger was built by Thomas Jann (Alkofen). Since then there have been regular "concerts by international performers", which have also attracted many famous organists to Gotteszell.
