Observation tower

The 7 m high observation tower is the distinguishing feature of the Hirschenstein. It was built in 1921 by the Munich Section of the Bavarian Forest Association . In 1971 it was renovated for the first time and handed over to the Bernried club section. In 1995, with the support of the surrounding communities, this section replaced the spiral staircase and repaired damaged areas so that the tower can again serve visitors well for a longer period of time. A service for all far-sighted people is the information that Otto Wartner, Mitterfels Section, attached to the tower railing a few years ago with the objects to be recognized by the tower and their distances.
