The voiced uvular fricative (a voiced , the uvula educated fricative ) has the following in different languages phonetic and orthographic realizations:
- German : [ ʁ ] is the most widely used in Germany pronunciation variant of r. In the high German standard wording, it is one of the three realizations of the / r / in addition to the alveolar vibrant and the uvular vibrant .
- French : Marked by r.
