The voiced uvular fricative (a voiced , the uvula educated fricative ) has the following in different languages phonetic and orthographic realizations:

• German : [⁠ ʁ ⁠] is the most widely used in Germany pronunciation variant of r. In the high German standard wording, it is one of the three realizations of the / r / in addition to the alveolar vibrant and the uvular vibrant .
• French : Marked by r.
  • Examples: r ue [ ʁy ], bava r der [ bavaʁˈde ], ma rr e [ maʁ ]
• Ivrit (New Hebrew): Denoted by Resch ר .
  • Example: ריש [ ʁeːʃ ]
