labial
A labial , Labiallaut or labialis (of lat. Labialis , of labium " lip ") - German labial - is in the phonetics , a sound, at the articulation primarily lips are involved. There are labiodental sounds (the place of articulation is the contact between the lower lip and the teeth of the upper jaw), labio-labial ( bilabial ) sounds, in the formation of which the upper and lower lip are involved, and apico-labial sounds. Apico-labial sounds exist in some Caucasian languages . The articulator is the tip of the tongue (apex) and the articulation point is the upper lip.
