The voiced alveolar fricative (a voiced on the alveoli educated fricative ) has the following in different languages phonetic and orthographic realizations:

  • German [⁠ z ⁠] : regional s in initial position in front of vowel between two vowels, between [⁠ l ⁠] , [⁠ m ⁠] , [⁠ n ⁠] , [⁠ ŋ ⁠ ] , [⁠ r ⁠] and vowel and before [⁠ l ⁠] , [⁠ m ⁠] , [⁠ n ⁠] , [⁠ r ⁠] , if there is a related There is a word form in which a Schwa is spoken before these consonants .
(does not occur in the southern varieties , there voiceless )
